Apple TV Plus has steadily built an impressive roster of thought-provoking TV shows since its launch. People are finally taking notice, especially fans of science fiction.
Sure, Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime Video still reign supreme as the heavy-hitters in the streaming game. However, thanks to shows like Severance, which garnered a whopping 72 Emmy nominations in 2024, along with the streamer’s recent introduction as an add-on subscription through Prime Video and its inclusion in the Comcast bundle, the platform that Apple built is finally getting its due.
Outside of the box and creative in their storytelling, each science fiction show I’m highlighting below stays true to Apple’s stylish branding and, as the company’s classic ad campaign states, it “thinks different.” Sci-fi shows such as For All Mankind, Foundation and Dark Matter are standouts in my list, but there’s much more sci-fi goodness to explore.
