EXCLUSIVE: Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung (Minari, Pachinko) has been tapped as a lead opposite Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny in Season 2 of Netflix‘s anthology series Beef, from creator, executive producer and showrunner Lee Sung Jin and A24.
In the 8-episode new installment, a young couple (Spaeny, Melton) witnesses an alarming fight between their boss (Isaac) and his wife (Mulligan), triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner (Youn).
For Youn, this marks a reunion with Netflix and A24. Veteran Korean actress’ first American series was Netflix’s Sense8, in which she had a small role. Youn’s Hollywood debut was in A24’s Minari, which earned her an Oscar, among other major awards.
