Amy Adams is coming for her Oscar with Nightbitch, a new dark comedy about motherhood coming to theaters this weekend.
Written and directed by Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood), who adapted Rachel Yoder’s 2021 novel of the same name, Nightbitch stars Adams as a sleep-deprived mother at the end of her rope. Adams’ on-screen husband (Scoot McNairy) is gone five days of the week at his high-paying job, while Adams stays home all day to raise their two-year-old son. She’s exhausted, bored out of her mind, and also thinks she might be transforming into a dog.
