If these shoes could talk, they might sound like Anthony Mackie and Martin Lawrence. That’s certainly what the sneakers featured in Sneaks—a new animated movie for kids about talking sneakers, opening in U.S. theaters this weekend—sound like!
Directed by Rob Edwards and Chris Jenkins, with a screenplay written by Edwards, Sneaks tells the story of a designer sneaker named Ty (voiced by Anthony Mackie), who embarks on a quest to New York City, to rescue his stolen sister, Maxine (voiced by Chloe Bailey), who was stolen by a shady collector (voiced by Laurence Fishburne). While on his journey, Ty meets many different shoes from all walks of life (pun intended), including JB (voiced by Martin Lawrence).
