‘Wicked’ Concert Special Set For NBC And Peacock Ahead Of Sequel’s November Theatrical Bow

Hoping for a repeat lift from the upfronts crowd, NBCUniversal once again put a spotlight on Wicked on Monday at Radio City Music Hall.

Wicked: For Good, the second half of the Broadway adaptation starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, will open November 21. Director John M. Chu took the stage at the upfront to not only introduce the trailer but also to announce a live concert in L.A. featuring the film’s co-stars and featuring songs from both parts of the Broadway adaptation.

Chu called the concert “a centerpiece of our campaign” for the second film. He said it’s “something that’s never been done in the 22-year history of Wicked” onstage and on screen. Grande and Erivo will appear at the concert, which will be filmed live at the Peacock Theater in L.A. The special will air on NBC in November and stream on Peacock the following day.
