EXCLUSIVE: HBO Max and France Télévisions’ hard-hitting drama Laura’s Treatments has found new international buyers.
The series is known as L’Affaire Laura Stern in French-speaking territories. It follows Laura, a pharmacist and mother, played by Valérie Bonneton, who was previously best known for her comedy roles.
The part of Laura sees Bonneton play a woman who has devoted her life to helping victims of domestic violence, founding the organization ‘Women Standing Tall.’ She witnesses the murder of one of her members. Tormented by the incident and outraged by the indifference of the authorities, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
In France, the show bowed on HBO Max in January before hitting free-to-air television on pubcaster France Télévisions. HBO Max also has the show for Belgium. France TV Distribution is across sales and has inked new deals for the four-part drama and buyers include
