As production is underway on the Jason Momoa and Andy Samberg-led Netflix film Protecting Jared in Oahu, Aimee Carrero (Your Friends and Neighbors, The Menu) and Jai Courtney (American Primeval, War Machine) have joined the cast.
Additionally, Ruben Fleischer has been added as the film’s director. His directing credits include the films Zombieland (2009), Venom (2018), and most recently, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. For the small screen, he’s directed episodes of NBC’s Superstore, ABC’s Stumptown, Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, and ABC’s The Good Doctor.
Fleischer will direct from a script written by the mulitple Emmy nominated duo of Rob Klein and John Solomon, both of whom are longtime comedy writers. Klein and Solomon coincided as writers on NBC’s Saturday Night Live for 16 years. Solomon also wrote on Peacock’s MacGruber, Fox’s The Last Man on Earth,
