At Sunday’s Oscars, Diane Warren lost yet again.
It marked her 17th nomination without a win. But she did achieve one mark of distinction: Warren is now the person with the most nominations without a win in Oscar history.
Turns out, it’s a designation she’s embracing.
In an interview today, the songwriter acknowledged seeing headlines dubbing her “the biggest loser like ever in the history of the Academy Awards.”
Her response?
“I’ll take it.”
Note: The Academy did give Warren an honorary Oscar in 2022.
As she explained to NBCLA in an interview, “It means I’ve been nominated all these times.”
Warren then took it a step further, stating, “If I had the choice of winning, you know, an Oscar — and I’ve been nominated all these times — I’m taking the multiple [nominations]. I’m taking the mantle of biggest loser
