Kenya Barris is joining Revolt.
The Black-ish creator has been named Vice Chair of Revolt Labs, a new initiative designed around helping creators turn their ideas into television and film projects.
It comes a year after Offscript Worldwide rolled Revolt TV into a single entity alongside its music management division, creator arm and brand marketing unit. Sean Combs, who founded the company in 2012, is no longer involved.
Barris has been tasked with “helping guide talent in developing premium projects to be sold to major distributors”.
“Revolt already had the foundation,” said Kenya Barris, Vice Chair of Revolt Labs. “My role is to help build the bridge from where creators start to where their ideas can ultimately go. I’m excited to work with these creators to help further build their platforms and businesses into thriving, sustainable empires.”
