Netflix‘s latest original series out of Canada is an adaptation of Carley Fortune‘s bestseller This Summer Will Be Different.
Shooting on the ten-part show will take place on Prince Edward Island and in Toronto, with Canadian producer Sphere Media attached. The creator-showrunners are Dane Clark (Suze, One More Time), and Linsey Stewart (Workin’ Moms, North of North).
Logline on the series is as follows: “This Summer Will Be Different, based on the beloved novel by Carley Fortune, is a simmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy, a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend’s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for.”
Exec producers are Clark, Stewart, Fortune and Jennifer Kawaja and Elise Cousineau for Sphere, the maker of Netflix limited series Wayward.
