Shioli Kutsuna Joins ‘Gundam’ Movie From Netflix & Legendary

EXCLUSIVE: Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool franchise) has landed a role alongside Sydney Sweeney, Noah Centineo and Michael Mando in Netflix‘s live-action Gundam movie from Legendary, sources tell Deadline.

Reps for Netflix and Legendary declined comment. Both Kutsuna’s role and the film’s plot are being kept under wraps. While Jason Clarke was also eyeing to star in Gundam as of last month, sources tell Deadline he’s since fallen off the project. Production kicks off in Australia next month.

Co-developed by Legendary and franchise owner Bandai Namco Filmworks, this Gundam movie will be the first in live-action. Sweet Tooth showrunner Jim Mickle is directing from his own script and producing alongside his partner Linda Moran through their production company Nightshade, along with Centineo and his partner Enzo Marc. We were first to report on Netflix moving to acquire the film in January.
