Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd’s indie has struck a deal with Criminal Record producer STV Studios.

McKidd’s Ferryman Films will exclusively co-produce drama with STV Studios, which owns the likes of Patrick Melrose maker Two Cities Television and makes Criminal Record for Apple TV.

The pair’s first collab is an exclusive book option of William Shaw’s crime thriller The Red Shore, which will see STV Studios Drama and Ferryman work together on developing the novel for screen. The Red Shore is the first in Shaw’s new Eden Driscoll detective series.

McKidd’s Ferryman Films is led by the Grey’s Anatomy star and Charlotte Rutherford, making shows that “feel proudly Scottish, but travel effortlessly to global streamers and UK broadcasters alike.” McKidd has played Dr. Owen Hunt in Grey’s Anatomy since 2008. His other credits include Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, in which he played Tommy Mackenzie.
