‘Your Friends and Neighbors’ Creator Jonathan Tropper Says He “Stalked” James Marsden To Get Him For Season 2: “We Actually Put A Picture Of Marsden On The Wall, He Was Our North Star”

When you’re the creator and showrunner of a popular TV series like Your Friends and Neighbors, you have to shoot for the moon when it comes to your second season. For Jonathan Tropper, the moon meant James Marsden starring in Season 2.

Ahead of the new season dropping this week on Apple TV, DECIDER sat down with Tropper to discuss heading back to Westmont Village, New York — the fictional affluent suburb inhabited by Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, and Olivia Munn‘s characters — and how they managed to nab the ever-booked Marsden, who was fresh off back-to-back Emmy-nominated roles in Jury Duty and Paradise.
