Donald Trump has ousted Pam Bondi as his attorney general, multiple news outlets reported on Thursday, marking another cabinet-level shake up in the president’s second term.
Bondi was a strident in her combative defense of the president in congressional hearings, but she was embattled over her handling of the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
CNN reported that Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general, would serve as acting AG.
Fox News reported that Bondi would get a different job within the administration.
Reports had surfaced on Wednesday that Trump was getting ready for another change to his cabinet. Last month, he fired Kristi Noem as the secretary of homeland security. Her successor, Markwayne Mullin, was quickly confirmed by the Senate.
