To anyone who may have been surprised by that plot twist in the Season 2 opener of Your Friends and Neighbors, executive producers Jon Hamm and Jonathan Tropper have a good explanation for it.

In the brand new episode, “We’re Here Until We’re Not,” in the middle of a heist, Coop (Hamm) has to call Barney (Hoon Lee), his best friend and financial advisor, to help him get out of a pickle, much to the dismay of Elena (Aimee Carrero).
