Peabody Awards’ First Batch Of Nominees Include Oscar-Winning ‘Mr. Nobody Against Putin’, L.A. Fire Coverage

PBS and HBO were among the platforms with multiple mentions Tuesday in the first batch of nominations revealed for the 86th annual Peabody Awards, which honor the year’s most captivating and impactful stories across broadcasting and streaming.

Noms were unveiled today in the categories of Documentary, News, Public Service, and Radio/Podcast, with the remaining categories (Arts, Children’s/Youth, Entertainment, and Interactive & Immersive) coming Thursday.

Winners in all categories will be announced April 23 ahead of a ceremony set for May 31 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. During that event, Amy Poehler will be honored with the Peabody Career Achievement Award; Sterlin Harjo with the Peabody Trailblazer Award; James L. Brooks with the Peabody Industry Icon Award; and PBS Kids with the Peabody Institutional Award.
