Roy Wood Jr. Tried to Trick Keanu Reeves Into Saying the N-Word on ‘Outcome’ Set: “He’s Impervious!”

Somewhere out there, there’s footage of comedian Roy Wood Jr. trying to goad action movie star Keanu Reeves into saying a racial slur, thanks to a cut scene from Outcome, the new dark comedy that began streaming on Apple TV+ today.

“There’s a scene where I’m trying to trip him up into saying the N-word. None of that was scripted,” Wood said with a laugh, in a Zoom interview with Decider. “In terms of actually making him slip up and say it—he’s impervious.”

Directed by Jonah Hill, who also co-wrote the script with Ezra Woods, Outcome stars Reeves as an A-list movie star and former drug addict named Reef Hawk, who embarks on an apology tour of everyone in his life that he’s hurt.
