There’s a new shark movie called Thrash that began streaming on Netflix today, and if you love the Sharknado franchise, you don’t want to miss this.
Written and directed by Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola, Thrash is a cheesy-but-fun survival thriller, about a group of South Carolina residents who fail to evacuate during a Category Five hurricane. When the levies break, the entire town is flooded, and their homes are quickly destroyed. To make matters worse, there’s a bunch of blood-thirsty sharks swimming around in the waters, too. Thrash is not nearly as over-the-top campy as the Sharknado films, and not nearly as well-crafted as Alexandre Aja’s 2019 gator thriller Crawl. But hey, at least there are CGI sharks biting dudes in the butt.
