NewsNation will simulcast a California gubernatorial debate on April 22, a race scrambled over the weekend by the exit of Democrat Eric Swalwell amid sexual misconduct allegations.

The debate, which will start at 10 p.m. ET, is produced by the broadcasting division of NewsNation’s parent, Nexstar, and will be carried by its local stations in the state. The Hill also will live stream the event, from KRON-TV Channel 4 studios in San Francisco.

Candidates participating had to have met a 5% polling threshold in Nexstar’s March statewide poll. Those who qualified include Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco and Democrats Katie Porter and Tom Steyer. All have accepted the invite to participate.

The debate will be moderated by Nikki Laurenzo, news anchor at KTXL-TV Fox- 40 in Sacramento and host of Inside California Politics, and Frank Buckley, morning news anchor at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles.
