Microsoft is the next brand to slap a pretty major price hike on its computing devices, and it’s not subtle at all. The brand’s popular Surface laptops are seeing a rise in price tags across the lineup. And just like before, the memory shortage and component costs are to blame. The most eye-catching jumps hit Microsoft’s flagship devices. According to Windows Central, the Surface Pro 13-inch, which was originally launched at $999, now starts at $1,499. Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch has seen a similar jump, going from $999 to $1,499. In other words, both laptops now cost $500 more than they did at launch.
