The View host Alyssa Farah Griffin was candid about her own experience working in politics after former Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell was accused of sexual assault, possibly exposing a dark side to Capitol Hill.
Swalwell has been accused of rape and sexual harassmant by multiple women. The New York Times reports Senator Ruben Gallego denied seeing him “engage in any of the predatory behavior” he’s been accused of, Gallego confirmed that he heard “rumors” about the disgraced politician “for many years,” seemingly confirming that these rumors were not taken seriously. Swalwell’s resignation also follows the resignation of Texas Republican Tony Gonzales, who confessed he had an affair with a staffer in violation of House rules. That staffer later took her own life.
