CBS Fall 2026 Schedule: Fewer Comedies, FBI Block & ‘Elsbeth’ Shift; ‘Ghosts’ & ‘Matlock’ Held For Midseason

CBS is introducing a fall schedule with only two half-hour comedies. It is believed to be an all-time low for the network.

The lineup also includes four franchise blocks: FBI on Mondays, NCIS on Tuesdays, Fire Country on Friday and, with an asterisk, a Robert & Michelle King pair on Thursday. MIAs are Ghosts and Matlock, which had been fall staples since their launches but are being held for midseason, as well as NCIS: Origins. New next season are dramas NCIS: New York, Cupertino and Einstein.

Here is the schedule, followed by brief analysis and descriptions of CBS’ new 2026-27 series.
