
This weekend, why not get in touch with your emotions with the newest movies on VOD? You can go for melodrama with Reminders of Him, the hit movie based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, or try The Chronology of Water, Kirsten Stewart’s directorial debut. Both are journeys of healing and self-discovery, though the latter is based on a true story.
You could also check out Slanted, another new film arriving to digital this week, but this one is a darkly comedic body horror. The film stars Shirley Chen as Joan Huang, a Chinese-American student who undergoes an “ethnic modification” procedure so she’ll fit in with her white classmates. Joan becomes “Jo” (and is subsequently played by McKenna Grace) and though she initially enjoys presenting as a white girl at school, her appearance starts to deform and her relationships deteriorate as a result. The film is out now on VOD.
