
Artists Equity, the artist-led indie studio founded by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Gerry Cardinale, has announced a new Writers’ Room program that will inform its development of original screenplays.
Formalized after a successful pilot period, the program invites writers to pitch film ideas across a range of genres, with rooms launched around selected ideas. Affleck, Damon and the Dune franchise’s Eric Roth are providing regular feedback to participating writers, with scripts that move forward being packaged with talent and financing by Artists Equity.
Artists Equity’s room will take place twice a year. Sources said the company will next be looking for participants in late summer, earliest.
