The 2025 BAFTA Film Awards nominations are in, and Netflix‘s Vatican drama Conclave, directed by Edward Berger, leads the way with 12 nods, followed by the streamer’s Emilia Pérez with 11.
But it was a different name that topped a list of most-nominated studios/distributors, provided by BAFTA on Wednesday: Universal Pictures and Focus Features, which scored noms for the likes of Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, Jn M. Chu’s Wicked, Sean Baker’s Anora, and Robert Eggers’s Nosferatu.
Smaller and emerging players also feature on the list of companies whose movies are in BAFTA contention.

“It’s such an exciting, really rangy year,” Anna Higgs, chair of BAFTA’s Film Committee told THR. “It’s such an amazing field of players – big studios, streamers, but also indies.”
