BBC Studios Adapting Long-Running Danish Teen Series ‘Klassen’ In Germany & Eyeing French Version

BBC Studios is adapting one of Denmark’s longest-running series in Germany.

Teen show Klassen, which follows everyday dramas for pupils and teachers in a school, will be remade by BBC Studios Germany for the WDR network and BBC Studios is eyeing a potential French version.

Klassen has aired more than 1000 episodes on Danish broadcaster DR and has also been remade in Norway and Sweden.

Eva Holtmann, who runs fiction for BBC Studios Germany, revealed the news at Series Mania and said the show will shoot in the summer. Léa Gimonneau-Sorel, a producer at BBC Studios France, said her department is “interested” in a French version.
