Netflix confirmed today that Bridgerton Season 5 is officially in production and that the new season will tell the love story of Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza). Fans have been anticipating this gender-swapped retelling of Julia Quinn’s sixth Bridgerton novel, When He Was Wicked, ever since we first met the vivacious and beautiful Michaela in Season 3. Now, it’s really happening. Bridgerton will finally focus on a queer couple finding their happily ever after.
“You’ll learn really soon [who stars in Bridgerton Season 5], I would say,” Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell promised DECIDER last month. “We want to give fans a moment to really celebrate Yerin [Ha] and Luke [Thompson] and everything they’ve put into this season, but we are starting production very soon on Season 5 and we tend to make an announcement close to the start of production
