Almost a decade since the character’s last movie outing, Renée Zellweger is back in the role that earned her an Oscar nod: The fourth Bridget Jones movie, titled Mad About the Boy, is now streaming.
The new movie picks up with the chaotic diary writer now a single mom in her fifties, struggling to raise her two young kids following the death of husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).
A chance meeting with 29-year-old gardener Roxster, played by One Day’s Leo Woodall, sets her on a new romantic path, while, just to complicate matters, there’s also interest from her son’s science teacher, portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Add in the return of Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver and Emma Thompson as Dr. Rawlings and you have the recipe for a perfect fourth installment for fans of the franchise.
