Charter Spectrum has cut a new carriage deal with NBCUniversal, one that will bring its Peacock streaming service to the pay-TV giant’s TV customers at no extra charge.
With the addition of Peacock, Spectrum will offer some $65 worth of streaming services to customers of its Spectrum TV Select packages, including Peacock, Disney+, ESPN+, Paramount+, AMC+, BET+, ViX, Max and Discovery+.
Last year, Charter Spectrum and Disney were engaged in a high-profile carriage dispute, with the cable company demanding “a new model” for how it sells TV by including streaming services with its TV offering. The companies ultimately cut a deal, one that saw Disney agree to drop a few channels like Freeform and Disney Junior, but that made Disney+ available to Spectrum customers.
