This week’s episode of Euphoria set up the true drama of the third and final season of HBO’s hit drama. But for viewers at home, Hans Zimmer‘s out-of-place soundtrack made it a difficult to focus on Nate (Jacob Elordi) getting his pinky toe cut off or Cassie’s (Sydney Sweeney) $50,000 worth of floral arrangements.
The Oscar-winning composer was set to score the HBO show alongside the show’s longtime composer, Labrinth. But Labrinth, who worked on the show’s first two seasons, seemingly exited the series with a cryptic social media post that read, “I’m done with this industry. Fuck Columbia. Double fuck ‘Euphoria.’ I’m out. Thank you and good night x.”
The composer later revealed that he “decided to remove whatever music I had in it.”
