Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has been arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault of the group’s lead singer Brendan Yates’ father.

Montgomery County Police in Maryland said William Yates suffered serious trauma to his legs, including one broken leg, when Ebert allegedly drove into him outside Yates’ Silver Spring home on Sunday, according to The Baltimore Banner.

The Grammy-winning band told the outlet in a statement that they “cut ties” with Ebert in 2022 following “a consistent pattern of harmful behavior affecting himself, the band and the community,” noting he “began threatening violence” at the time, and threats “escalated further” in recent months.

Appearing in court on Thursday, Ebert is in custody and being held without bond, as Montgomery County District Court Judge Sherri Koch said the allegations are violent and targeted.
