In the latest example of the dominance of library titles on streaming, Gossip Girl soared onto Nielsen‘s streaming Top 10 the first week of November after making its return to Netflix.
The YA favorite racked up 617M viewing minutes across Netflix, Max and Hulu from November 4 to 10, putting it at No. 10 overall. While the show never left Max or Hulu, it’s absence from the Nielsen streaming lists when it wasn’t on Netflix is pretty telling.
It will be interesting to see whether the title will continue to rise through the ranks and generate more viewership in the coming weeks, as we’ve seen many times over when beloved titles make their way to the streamer. Gossip Girl seems to be a pretty constant favorite, so it’s possible it will never pop the way that Suits or Lost did while still putting up continuously strong viewership.
