HBO‘s adaptation of the Harry Potter book series is already breaking records for the premium cable network and the streamer HBO Max.
The trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone got +277 million organic (non-paid) views across platforms in its first 48 hours, becoming the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history and exceeding the previous record by more than double.
The series based on JK Rowling’s fantasy book series is set to debut Christmas 2026 on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
The series also stars John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.
