Host Conan O’Brien Skewers Oscars’ Pending Move To YouTube With Glimpse Of The Future

In an Oscar shocker, the Academy in December announced that the Academy Awards telecast will be moving from its longtime home on ABC to YouTube starting in 2029.

At the first Oscar ceremony since the announcement, host Conan O’Brien had some fun with the pending relocation.

He couldn’t finish as he was interrupted by a loud YouTube ad, in which a pitch woman, played Jane Lynch, was aggressively hawking a tactical flashlight that “killed Osama bin Laden.” In a signature YouTube style, the ad had a Skip Ad button with a countdown clock.
