‘House Of The Dragon’ VFX Firm Pixomondo Set To Close

Sony has said it plans to “wind down” operations at its VFX production company Pixomondo

We understand the studio plans to integrate some of the VFX outfit’s functions into other areas of production at Sony. It’s currently unclear how many staffers will be affected by the move or how much of the company Sony will absorb.

Pixomondo will officially close only after the completion of any outstanding projects or contracts. News of Pixomondo’s closure was first reported on by Televisual. The trade paper also reported that Pixomondo’s virtual production division, Clara, will be wound down, with some of its functions potentially being swept up by Sony.

Pixomondo is an Oscar- and BAFTA-winning VFX studio. The company had studios in London, Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver. The company’s credits include Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, HBO’s Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, and John Wick 4
