Cutting the cord was supposed to save us money, not drain our wallets all over again. But between endless subscription fees, surprise price hikes and sneaky “extra member” charges, streaming is starting to look a lot like the cable bill we tried to escape. Stack up services like Netflix, Hulu and Peacock, and suddenly you’re paying over $100 a month — and wondering how it got so out of hand.
And while those new bundle deals and partnerships, like DirecTV’s Genre Packs, sound like more value, they also mean more logins, more bills and more stuff you probably won’t ever use.
You’ve got to start asking yourself the tough questions: Are you actually watching everything you’re paying for? Or are your subscriptions just piling up while your money quietly disappears?
