Pixar’s latest movie is getting ready for its Disney Plus debut. Inside Out 2 will arrive on Disney’s streaming service on Sept. 25, more than three months after it was initially released in theaters. In those three months, Inside Out 2 became the highest grossing animated movie of all time.
Of course, with any box office list there are sure to be a few details worth noting. For one thing, there’s the delineation between traditional hand-drawn animation — a category The Lion King reigns supreme over — and computer generated animation. And, when you get past the top slot, the records becomes a bit more complicated since the second place movie on the all-time list is Disney’s “live-action” Lion King, a movie that seems like it shouldn’t really count for this list since it’s bizarrely caught between two worlds.
