If you love Baby Yoda, then you’ll love the adorable puppet creature in The Legend of Ochi, a new fantasy film coming to theaters this weekend. Puppets are so much cuter than CGI, don’t you think?
Written and direct by Isaiah Saxon in his feature film debut, The Legend of Ochi is a coming-of-age fantasy adventure about a young girl named Yuri (played by Helena Zengel), who lives on a secluded island with her father, Maxim (played by Willem Dafoe), and her adopted older brother, Petro (played by Finn Wolfhard). The people of the island fear the Ochi, a monkey-like creature that Maxim says kidnapped his wife. To avenge her, Maxim leads the island’s children on regular Ochi hunting expeditions. When Yuri takes an injured Ochi baby home, she must embark on an adventure without her family, to help the baby Ochi reunite with its family.
