Ben Affleck is back to crunch numbers—and skulls—in The Accountant 2, a sequel to the 2016 action movie The Accountant, opening in theaters this weekend.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, with a screenplay written by Bill Dubuque (the same director and same writer as the first movie), The Accountant 2 once again stars Affleck as Christian Wolff, an autistic accountant who is very good with numbers, and fronts his family’s money laundering operation. As children, both Christian and his brother Braxton (Jon Bernthal) were “trained” by their father in weaponry and martial arts. Not great for their mental health, but pretty great for beating up bad guys!
In this sequel, a treasury agent (Marybeth Medina) reaches out to Christian and Braxton for help solving her friend’s murder. That sounds like a job for an accountant, alright! Also starring J. K. Simmons, Daniella Pineda, Robert Morgan, Grant Harvey, and Anthony Howard,
