Is ‘Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom’ Streaming on Netflix or Hulu?

Overlord fans, the wait is nearly over, because the Overlord movie—aka Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom—opens in select U.S. theaters this week.

This is the first feature film in the popular Japanese anime series, and will pick up after the conclusion of Season 4. The film is directed by Naoyuki Itô, character designed by Satoshi Tasaki, with music by Shuji Katayama (Team-MAX) for the MADHOUSE production.

Here’s the official synopsis of the movie from Crunchyroll, which is handling the North American distribution: “After twelve years of playing his favorite MMORPG game, Momonga logs in for the last time only to find himself transported into its world playing it indefinitely. Throughout his adventures, his avatar ascends to the title of Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown.
