The new Rami Malek movie The Amateur opens in movie theaters weekend, starring the Oscar-winning actor as a behind-the-scenes spy who is ready to go in front of the curtain, for the sake of avenging his murdered wife.
Directed by James Hawes, with a screenplay by Ken Nolan and Gary Spinelli, The Amateur is based on the 1981 novel of the same name by spy novelist Robert Littell. Nothing hits quite like a ’80s spy story! Set in the modern day, this version of The Amateur stars Malek as a CIA cryptographer named Charles Heller, who decides to go rogue on a field mission when the agency fails to bring about justice for a London terrorist attack that kills his wife. When will the bad guys learn to stop killing wives?
