Before you take your unicorn-loving child to go see the new Jenna Ortega movie, Death of a Unicorn—which opens in theaters this weekend—you should know that this is a horror movie produced by Midsommar director Ari Aster. I’m not saying your child won’t still love the movie, but it’s just something to keep in mind.
This new satirical horror-comedy from A24 tells the story of a father (Paul Rudd) and his teenage daughter (Ortega) who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn with their car. As it turns out, this is a big no-no in the unicorn community. Now father and daughter are being hunted down by terrifying, magical beasts, and they don’t even get to go to candy mountain. Ugh!
