It’s not a bird, nor a plane, nor Superman flying into theaters this weekend—it’s Dog Man, aka the new animated movie about yet another dog who is also a cop. Those Paw Patrol pups better watch their back.
Written and directed by Peter Hastings, the Dog Man movie is based on the children’s graphic novel series of the same name, created by Dav Pilkey. It’s also, technically, a spin-off of the 2017 Captain Underpants movie, aka Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, which is also based on a children’s series by Pilkey. At least this dog wears pants!
Hastings himself stars as the voice of Dog Man, a part-dog, part-man creature created when an injured police chief gets a life-saving medical treatment to become fused to his dog. And no, this is not a horror movie. Other voice actors in the Dog Man cast include Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery,
