Another a day, another live-action remake of a beloved animated Disney film. This week, that honor goes to the 2025 Lilo and Stitch, opening in theaters this weekend. “Ohana” means family, and live-action remakes mean more money for the Mouse.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), with a screenplay written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, this new Lilo and Stitch movie is a remake of the 2002 animated film of the same name. Newcomer Maia Kealoha stars as Lilo, while the original Stitch voice actor, Chris Sanders, will once again lend his vocal talents to voice this CGI version of the blue alien. Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Hannah Waddingham, Billy Magnussen, Zach Galifianakis, and Courtney B. Vance, also star in the film.
