Ever wonder if you could game a game show? Then check out The Luckiest Man in America movie in theaters this weekend, a new drama based on the true story of an ice cream truck driver who hacked the key to the ’80s game show, Press Your Luck, and made off with tens of thousands of dollars. Directed by Samir Oliveros, with a screenplay written by Oliveros and Maggie Briggs, The Luckiest Man in America takes viewers back to the year 1984, when a man named Michael Larson (played by Emmy-winning actor Paul Walter Houser) won a record-breaking $110,237 on Press Your Luck. It wasn’t, however, just luck. Larson discovered that the supposedly random light board in the game was actually just five different patterns of light. Again: Don’t hate the player!
