The live-action Disney remakes just keep coming, and this time it’s Snow White’s turn. The 2025 live-action Snow White movie opens in theaters this weekend, and yes, the CGI dwarfs look terrifying.
Directed by Marc Webb, with a screenplay written by Erin Cressida Wilson, Snow White is a “re-imagining” of the classic 1937 animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which itself was an adaptation of the Brother’s Grimm fairytale from the 19th century. Golden Globe-winner Rachel Zegler stars in the title role, while Gal Gadot plays the Evil Queen obsessed with becoming “the fairest of them all.” Voice actors for the seven dwarves include Andrew Barth Feldman, Tituss Burgess, Martin Klebba, Jason Kravits, George Salazar, Jeremy Swift, and Andy Grotelueschen. And yes, it’s a musical, including new original songs, and old favorites from the animated film.
