Filmmaker Wes Anderson is back with yet another new movie, The Phoenician Scheme—opening in theaters this weekend—because, apparently, that guy never takes a break from pastels and centered shots.
Like many Anderson movies, The Phoenician Scheme cast is sprawling and star-studded, including, but not limited to, Benicio del Toro, Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend, and Hope Davis. Del Toros stars as Anatole “Zsa-Zsa” Korda, a wealthy industrialist and arms dealer who has been dodging more and more harrowing assassination attempts. After his latest brush with death gives him a peak at the afterlife, he attempts to make amends with his daughter (Mia Threapleton).
