The 2025 Wolf Man movie is finally opening in theaters this weekend, over a decade after Universal announced it was remaking the classic horror film.
Director Leigh Whannell—who already saw great success with his 2020 remake of The Invisible Man—has turned his talents to adapting another classic Universal Monster movie, aka 1941’s The Wolf Man. In the 2025 movie, Christopher Abbott steps into the role previously played by Claude Rains: a man bitten by a werewolf who is then plagued by lycanthropy himself. Julia Garner stars as Abbott’s horrified wife, and Matilda Firth stars as their traumatized daughter. How can a man protect his family from the monster when he is the monster?
