Mickey 17 is releasing on digital platforms, one month after the movie opened in theaters. That’s not great news for the state of the movie industry, but it is good news for audiences who want to watch the new sci-fi comedy from Oscar-winner Bong Joon-ho from the comfort of their couch.
Written and directed by Bong Joon-ho—who took home the Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay for 2019’s Parasite—Mickey 17 stars Robert Pattinson as an “expendable” clone named Mickey. Mickey gets sent on dangerous, deadly jobs where he’s all but expected to die. Once he bites it, no big deal—they just print out another clone! But on Mickey’s 17th iteration of life, something goes wrong. Mickey finds himself facing his own mortality and humanity like never before.
