If you’re a Paramount Plus drama with “Land” in its title, viewers will seemingly show up for you. The streamer’s new crime series MobLand — and the Taylor Sheridan shows Landman and 1923 — make up the top three launches in Paramount Plus history. It could be Tom Hardy or Guy Ritchie bringing in eyeballs, but I’m sticking with my “Land” theory.
MobLand premiered in late March and stars Hardy as a fixer for a crime family who clashes with another family “in a war that threatens to topple empires and lives,” according to the streaming service. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are part of the star-studded cast, and Ritchie directed the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer.
